Separate horse fall patients airlifted

It is believed that a woman in her thirties suffered injuries to her shoulder and ribcage after she was thrown from her horse on a property near Woodford.

At 6.50am, the Sunshine Coast RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter transferred the woman from the nearby Woodford Showgrounds to the Royal Brisbane Hospital, after she was initially treated by the Queensland Ambulance Service at the scene.

She travelled in a stable condition.

Less than 20 minutes later, a woman in her 40s near Warwick was the morning’s second horse fall patient.

The QAS treated the woman at the scene for suspected abdominal injuries, before the Toowoomba RACQ CareFlight helicopter flew her to the Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
