It’s understood the Brisbane resident was camping with family members on the island before she was involved in a sand tobogganing accident at Tangalooma.
The woman was reportedly stuck by a second tobogganist on the sand dunes, resulting in injuries to her face.
The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was called to assist the woman shorty after 3pm.
She was airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.
