The Queensland Ambulance Service treated the man at the scene before transferring him by road to RACQ LifeFlight Rescue ‘s Sunshine Coast hangar at approximately 9.00pm last night.
He was stabilised by LifeFlight’s aeromedical crew before he was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital in a serious condition for specialist burns treatment.
2017 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,344 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
