The Brisbane-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked around 6.00 pm to airlift the girl from Maryborough Hospital to the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane for further treatment. She was airlifted in a stable condition.
Also overnight, the Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted a 24-year-old man who suffered a suspected snake bite.
This was the fourth suspected snake bite victim airlifted by the Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter since February. The man was airlifted from Miles Hospital to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
It was a busy weekend for RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crews who attended four primary missions, where an RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter landed at the scene of an accident. They also conducted 13 inter-hospital transfers of patients around Queensland.
LifeFlight’s Air Ambulance jet, sponsored by RACQ, also airlifted a 26-year-old man from Emerald to Brisbane after he suffered multiple stab wounds in an altercation on Friday night.
