RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts woman after head-on crash

The aeromedical crew was called into action just before 9 o’clock this morning.

It’s believed two cars collided on a stretch of highway, before one vehicle left the road and caught fire.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics, Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) personnel and Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers were on scene, when the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew arrived.

LifeFlight’s Critical Care Doctor and QAS Flight Paramedic assisted in treating the woman for lower body injuries.

She had not been travelling in the car, which caught fire.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew stabilised the patient, before she was flown to Sunshine Coast University Hospital, in a serious condition.
