The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was sent to the scene, south of Gympie, around 8:30 this morning.
The aeromedical team worked alongside paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) to stabilise the woman, before flying her to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
She was flown in a serious condition.
Shortly after the aeromedical crew returned to base, they were tasked to another car crash in the Fraser Coast region, where a logging truck and van had collided.
The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted a male, aged in his twenties, who had been a passenger in the van.
He had suffered a suspected spinal and head injury and was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
