He was treated at the scene by Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics before RACQ LifeFlight was tasked to airlift the boy just after 9.00pm last night.
He was flown to Bundaberg Base Hospital for further treatment.
2017 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,344 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
