The Brisbane-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called to a hospital in the region, just after 1 o’clock this afternoon.
It’s believed the man, who’s aged in his forties, had been riding his motorbike before lunchtime, when he lost control on a bend and crashed.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics initially treated the patient on the scene.
He was then transferred to hospital, where it was decided his upper-body injuries would require a higher level of care.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter airlifted him to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition, under the care of LifeFlight’s Critical Care doctor and flight paramedic.
2018 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,724 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
