The rescue chopper was called into action around 12:30 this afternoon.

When the aeromedical team arrived, Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics, Queensland Police Service (QPS) officers and Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) personnel were already at the scene.

The Queensland Government Air (QGAir) helicopter was also tasked to the crash site, where multiple patients were being treated.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew worked together with the other services, to treat one man for serious lower leg injuries.

The patient, aged in his 40s, was then airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, under the care of LifeFlight’s Critical Care Doctor and the QAS Flight Paramedic.
