RACQ CareFlight Rescue airlifts seriously injured motorcyclist

A man in his 50s has been seriously injured after his motorcycle left the road and crashed on the Cunningham Highway this morning.

The RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the roadside location just south of Harrisville south west of Brisbane, shortly after 10.30.

A passing doctor and nurse assisted the man at the scene until QAS officers arrived.

The patient received serious limb injuries and was airlifted by the RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

He travelled in a serious but stable condition.

The crash blocked the Cunningham Highway in both directions.
