RACQ CareFlight Rescue airlifts second bike rider in three hours

The Gold Coast RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the hospital just after 1pm.

It’s believed the rider was thrown 20 metres into the air on impact with the side of a truck before striking the ground.

The man was flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a stable condition.

The patient is the second man to be airlifted by the RACQ CareFlight Rescue in three hours.

Earlier a man in his fifties was airlifted after his trail bike collided with a car at Teelah north east of Yarraman.

The Sunshine Coast RACQ CareFlight crew was tasked to the scene of the crash just before eleven this morning.

It’s believed the impact of the crash also propelled the man from his bike.

He came to rest some ten metres from the machine, sustaining multi-trauma injuries.

The rescue helicopter landed in a nearby paddock as CareFlight’s Doctor and the Flight Paramedic assisted QAS crews with patient treatment.

The man was flown to the Royal Brisbane Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
