RACQ CareFlight airlifts two babies overnight

CareFlight’s Intensive Care crew from the Gold Coast, with a neo-natal team on board from the Royal Brisbane Hospital, airlifted a premature baby from Toowoomba.

The child had an abdominal medical condition and was flown to the RBH in a stable condition.

The Bundaberg based crew, with a Mater Children’s Hospital Pediatric team on board, was also airborne.

That CareFlight specialist team flew to Cherbourg to pick up a baby girl with a respiratory infection.

She was flown back to the Mater Children’s Hospital in a stable condition.

“They are among our most precious patients.”

In all the teams flew three missions overnight.

The Toowoomba crew airlifting an elderly man with an abdominal condition from Murgon back to Toowoomba Base Hospital .

The South West is one of RACQ CareFlight Rescue’s busiest regions with 43% of all missions flown last year in the region.
