RACQ CareFlight airlifts motorcyclist after crash at speed

RACQ CareFlight Rescue has flown to the aid of a 35 year old motorcyclist who hit a tree while travelling on a 100 km/hr stretch of road this afternoon.

The Toowoomba man was riding along the Atkinson Dam Road at Atkinson Dam north east of Gatton, when he lost control and crashed around 3pm.

RACQ CareFlight’s Sunshine Coast helicopter crew landed in a paddock a few hundred metres from the crash site.

The helicopter’s doctor and flight paramedic treated the man for multi-trauma injuries. 

He was stabilised before being loaded onto the helicopter and airlifted to the the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
