RACQ CareFlight’s crew has Christmas wrapped up

It’s the fifth year the gift wrap has been held and CareFlight’s Lauren Biehl is hoping to raise $20,000 this year.

Volunteers, including CareFlight’s own staff, will wrap shopper’s presents from now right up until Christmas Eve.

The gift wrap stall is located outside Big W and more than 10,000 presents are expected to be wrapped in the next few weeks.

Ms Biehl said shoppers were able to have their gifts wrapped for a gold coin donation to the lifesaving chopper service.

“Christmas is one of the busiest times for our rescue service as many people are out and about, travelling on holidays and spending more time outdoors,” she said.

“The reality is that many people will need to be rescued by our crew over this period.”

Last year volunteers wrapped more than 10,000 presents raising an impressive $20,000.

“Shoppers are invited to have their gifts beautifully wrapped by our jolly volunteers at the stall, all day long throughout the extended shopping hours,” Ms Biehl said.
