The young lady started having contractions on a Jackson property, 85 kilometres East of Roma, but severe flooding meant she was unable to receive medical help by road.
Three CareFlight helicopters positioned at our Roma hangar for emergency flood evacuations have performed five rescue missions today.
A five year old boy suffering from abdominal complications had to be airlifted from Sky Station, south west of Emerald.
A 57 year old male was transported from Mitchell Hospital to Roma Hospital, and a 54 year old female suffering from a kidney infection was airlifted from Tamanick Station, 100 kilometres south west of Roma, to Roma Hospital.
This evening, CareFlight was tasked to search an area north east of Roma to located a distress beacon activated shortly before 10pm.
The CareFlight crew located the beacon after a flare was also activated.
Two men from the Department of Energy and Environment had been travelling along a swollen creek in a dingy measuring the floods when they hit a submerged stump which flipped them out of their boat.
They were able to make their way to higher ground where Emergency Services had gathered.
