The chopper was called to the Somerset region just after 6pm.
It’s believed the man’s parachute canopy failed as he was approaching the ground.
He reportedly rapidly descended, before landing heavily.
The patient was treated by Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics for suspected spinal injuries, before the rescue chopper arrived.
He was stabilised, before being flown to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, under the care of LlifeFlight’s Critical Care doctor, and flight paramedic.
The man was in a stable condition when he was airlifted.
