We've Changed Our Name To LifeFlight
"Celebrating the past; embracing the new"
Our organisation has proudly served the community for 40 years, providing a vital lifeline to people in need of urgent medical assistance across Queensland. We've come along way since the early days; our crews have performed more than 50,000 critical rescue missions, we now operate 10 rescue helicopters and three air ambulance jets across five locations, and we've become a world-class training provider to aviation and medical professionals across Australia.
After much deliberation we decided we needed a new name to better reflect our growing service and on July 11 2016, CareFlight Group (QLD) Ltd officially changed its name to LifeFlight.
While our name has changed, our purpose of saving lives has, and always will be, the driving force behind everything we do. Giving our patients the opportunity to receive emergency care, no matter the location, is all worth it. It means they have a fighting chance to survive, recover and get back to their loved ones sooner.
The change from CareFlight Group (QLD) Ltd to LifeFlight is in name only. We remain a not-for-profit organisation and our core mission of saving lives and serving the community, our heart and soul, won’t miss a beat. Our pilots, crews, engineers, medical teams and support staff retain the same purpose and the same passion as always - they continue to work tirelessly to ensure we're ready to help those in need 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.
The colours of our iconic blue and yellow helicopters will remain the same and we retain our incredible 25-year partnership with our naming rights sponsor, RACQ. We felt a change was also necessary to reduce some of the confusion between our service and CareFlight Limited New South Wales, which has always been a separate charity to ours.
With your ongoing support we can continue to grow and evolve in the future, and LifeFlight will continue to provide a total blanket of care to anyone, anywhere, anytime.
‘CareFlight Limited, a charitable aero-medical organisation based in New South Wales, is a separate organisation, unrelated to LifeFlight, and continues to operate as CareFlight”.
