IOR & LifeFlight Safety Message

Emergency crews roll-out summer safety campaign in style

LifeFlight has joined forces with Queensland Emergency Services and corporate partners, iOR to launch their new road safety campaign.

An iOR fuel tanker will serve as a moving billboard for the campaign to remind drivers of the realities of accidents ahead of the Christmas weekend.

LifeFlight and iOR unveiled their road safety message in spectacular fashion, with local emergency service crews working together to pull a 17-metre iOR fuel tanker from a hangar at Toowoomba Airport.

The tanker sides revealed two rescue missions routinely attended by RACQ LifeFlight Rescue in the south-west region; a motor-vehicle accident and a farming accident.

Emergency services witness the devastating effects of the ‘Fatal Five’ on a daily basis and hope the campaign will inspire passers-by’s to stay safe on the roads these holidays.

The two organisations have a strong interest in road safety, as iOR fuel tankers drive across the country and emergency services – including RACQ LifeFlight Rescue - attend a high proportion of motor vehicle accidents.

RACQ LifeFlight Rescue flew almost 200 missions in the south-west region last Summer.

“In partnership with iOR and emergency services, LifeFlight has been able to share a compelling safety message to remind south-west residents to stay safe these holidays,” XXX said.

“RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crews will continue to be on standby 24/7, 365 days a year to provide rapid-response aeromedical care should you or a loved one need our service, but we hope this safety message serves as a timely reminder.
