Project Medi-Ready is a crucial project raising funds to complete the full medical fit-out of three new rescue helicopters purchased as part of LifeFlight's long-term strategy to replace our ageing aircraft and ultimately improve patient outcomes.
The speed and efficiency that the new state-of-the-art helicopters provide means our precious patients are connected to advanced specialist care in major hospitals across Queensland even faster. As the demand on our air-medical service continues to grow, it’s vital the helicopters are equipped to deliver the highest level of care to our patients in-flight.
The custom Emergency Medical Service (EMS) fit-out will optimise the service LifeFlight is able to deliver to Queenslanders. The final configuration will see the same type of lifesaving equipment featured in world-class hospitals housed on board the aircraft, effectively transforming the rescue helicopters into flying intensive care units.
Some of the features will include:
- Hospital grade LED cabin lighting
- Plumbed oxygen
- Specialised built-in storage units
- Advanced electrical systems capable of independently powering critical care devices such as life support monitors, intravenous pumps, neonatal incubators and medical communication equipment
By supporting this project you’ll be helping us to deliver real benefits to the community for decades to come.
