Trapped woman rescued from car rollover wreckage

The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a woman, who was trapped in her vehicle following a serious car rollover, north of Gympie, earlier today.

The woman, aged in her sixties, was driving north to Hervey Bay when she lost control of the vehicle in Tuan State Forest.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) personnel had to cut off the car's roof, to free her from the wreckage.

RACQ LifeFlight Rescue treated the woman for arm injuries.

She was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

2018 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,724 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
