Mt Isa RACQ LifeFlight Rescue chopper airlifts woman after rollover

The Mt Isa-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a woman to hospital, after her car crashed off the road and rolled onto its side, this morning.

It's believed the woman, aged in her fifties, was able to get herself out of the vehicle, before emergency services arrived.

The aeromedical team was called into action around 11.15am.

The rescue helicopter landed on the highway at the scene, east of Mt Isa.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics and Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) personnel were already on scene, helping the patient.

She was flown to Mt Isa Hospital in a stable condition, under the care of LifeFlight's QAS Flight Paramedic.
