Man critical after horse fall
A man, aged in his seventies, has been airlifted to hospital, after he fell from a horse earlier today.
The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the scene, in the Sunshine Coast hinterland, around 3:30 this afternoon.
The man suffered critical head injuries and was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital for further treatment.
The Sunshine Coast aeromedical crew have completed three missions so far today.
Earlier this morning, they winched an injured hiker from Mt Cooroora and flew her to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
She suffered upper body injuries after falling four metres, down a steep section of Mt Cooroora, while hiking to the summit.
Following the winch mission, the helicopter then flew to Gympie Hospital to complete an inter-hospital transfer of an ill patient.
