Cattle musterer airlifted after horse fall

The Mt Isa-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a horse rider to hospital, after she fell and injured her neck, while moving cattle.

The chopper was called to a cattle station north-east of Mt Isa, around 9:30 this morning.

The aeromedical crew said workers on the property did a 'great job' of keeping the woman still and reassuring her medical help was on its way.

When the chopper arrived, the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) Flight Paramedic stabilised the woman, aged in her twenties.

She was then flown to the Mt Isa Hospital, in a stable condition.
