Teenager tumbles in horse riding accident

A teenage girl has taken a serious tumble after she fell off her horse on a Southern Downs property earlier today.

RACQ LifeFlight Rescue was called to airlift the young woman after she fell from her horse and became unconscious. She also suffered suspected upper limb injuries in the fall. 

The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue chopper airlifted her to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment. 

RACQ LifeFlight Rescue was tasked to the mission just after 10am. 

The 2017-2018 financial year was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,452 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
