RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifts boy crushed by tree
An 11-year-old boy, who became trapped under a large tree in the South Burnett this morning, has been airlifted to hospital by the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight rescue helicopter.
It's understood the tree was damaged in last night's storm, which tore through the region.
Queensland Ambualance Service (QAS) officers and bystanders assisted the child, who suffered multiple injuries, before the rescue helicopter arrived.
The boy was stabilised and flown to Lady Cilento Children's Hospital in a critical condition, with his mother by his side.
