Motorcycle rider airlifted north of Gympie

Just before 11:30pm Friday evening the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the Bruce Highway, north of Gympie, after reports of a motorcycle accident.

The male rider had been travelling with a group of other riders when the accident occurred.

Once at scene the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue aeromedical team assisted local paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service in treating the male rider for multiple injuries.

He was airlifted to the RBWH in a serious condition for further treatment.
