Man winched from Mt Glorious after mountain bike accident

The Toowoomba based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was activated at 3pm Saturday afternoon to an area between Mt Glorious and Mount Nebo after a lone mountain bike rider called emergency services after falling from his mountain bike on a downhill section.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter located the rider in heavy bushland and inserted the Intensive Care Doctor and Paramedic to attend to the male patient.

The rider, aged in his late forties, was seriously injured and was stabilised before being winched onboard the rescue helicopter and flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.

2017 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,344 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
