Man seriously injured following car into tree

An elderly man is recovering in hospital after he was seriously injured in a car crash earlier this morning.

The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the scene, south west of Toowoomba, around 7:30am. 

The aeromedical crew worked alongside local emergency services to treat the man before airlifting him to the Princess Alexandra Hospital. 

The man was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
