Man injured after being thrown from horse

Yesterday afternoon the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to a property north of Gympie where a man, aged in his forties, had been thrown from a horse.

The aeromedical worked alongside paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service to apply initial medial care.

The man was then flown, in a stable condition, to Hervey Bay Hospital for further treatment.

2017 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,344 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.

LifeFlight is a community-based charity funded and supported by the LifeFlight Foundation
