Man airlifted from motorbike crash in Sunshine Coast hinterland
An elderly man has been airlifted by the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter following a serious motorcycle accident near Peachester.
The man lost control of his motorcycle and was thrown eight meters into a ditch.
RACQ LifeFlight Rescue's aeromedical worked with local emergency services to retrieve the man from the ditch and stabilise him for the flight.
He was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
The 2017-2018 financial year was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,452 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
