Man airlifted after near drowning incident at Rainbow Beach

RACQ LifeFlight Rescue has airlifted a man, aged in his 50s, after a near drowning incident at Rainbow Beach, earlier today.

The man was pulled unconscious from the surf and was treated by Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics at the scene. 

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter landed at a nearby school oval, where they met the patient. 

He was then flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
