Horror crash injures elderly woman
The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted an elderly woman after she was injured in a motor-vehicle accident north of Nanango.
The woman was assisted by local emergency services - Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS), Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) and Queensland Police Service (QPS) - who worked to free the woman from the trapped car wreckage.
She sustained serious injuries and was airlifted from the scene by the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue chopper at approximately 12pm today.
2017 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,344 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
