Holiday-goer airlifted off Fraser Island
A Brisbane woman has been airlifted by the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter after she suffered a fall on Fraser Island this morning.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue chopper was called to Happy Valley just before 7.30am to airlift the woman, aged in her seventies, who required urgent medical care.
She was flown by RACQ LifeFlight Rescue to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
2017 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,344 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
