Car crash leaves man with multiple injuries

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a 34-year-old man after he was injured in a car crash.

It's believed the man lost control of his car before crashing down an embankment in the Sunshine Coast's hinterland.

Due to the terrain surrounding the scene the areomedical crew landed at a nearby oval.

The man was treated and driven by paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) before being flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

He was transported in a stable condition.

2017 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,344 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.

LifeFlight is a community-based charity funded and supported by the LifeFlight Foundation
