RACQ LifeFlight Rescue aeromedical crews have had one of the busiest Easter weekends in recent history after being tasked on multiple primary missions across the state.
The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to multiple primary missions over the long weekend.
The Sunshine Coast-based helicopter was tasked multiple times to the Manar Park and surrounding areas. An 18-year old female was involved in a single vehicle accident in the South Burnett region just after 6:00 pm last night.
It is believed the vehicle left the road and collided with a tree. The woman was transported to the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital by the Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter after being treated by the Queensland Ambulance Service at the scene. The patient was transported in a stable condition.
Over the Easter weekend the Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew were tasked on multiple primary missions.
The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) to attend a primary mission on a cruise ship 40 NM off Bundaberg.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter landed on the cruise ship helipad and LifeFlight aeromedical crews treated a 54-year old male who had slipped on the wet deck during a storm.
It is a believed the patient had slipped after exiting the pool during the storm and had to be treated at the scene by on board medical staff until the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crews arrived. The patient was then airlifted to the Bundaberg Hospital.
The patient had received injures to his head, neck and spine in relation to the fall and was transported in a stable condition.
The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked to the scene of a snake bite on Fraser Island at 11:37am today. A 20-year old man was bitten on the right foot by a snake. The patient was treated by LifeFlight's aeromedical crews and then airlifted from to the Hervey Bay hospital in a stable condition.
The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew airlifted a 7-year-old boy who had sustained a serious hand injury from a lawn mower late Sunday afternoon. They boy was flown to the Lady Cilento Hospital in a stable condition.
