Boy airlifted after being run over by 4WD
The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has been kept busy with back to back missions today.
In the crew’s latest mission the rescue helicopter was tasked from Hervey Bay Hospital, after airlifting a patient from Fraser Island, to Inskip Point after reports a young boy had be run over by a 4WD on the beach.
The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) had arrived at the scene and transported the boy via road, along with his mother, to Rainbow Beach to meet with the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter.
He was airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition, suffering upper body injuries.
Earlier the rescue helicopter had airlifted a male patient from Fraser Island suffering a medical condition.
