Woman airlifted after falling from horse

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter has airlifted a woman in her 50's, after she fell from a horse west of Gympie.

It's believed the woman had been competing when she fell, causing her to suffer chest injuries.

The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) transported her to Kingaroy Hospital, where she was further assessed. She was then airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The Bundaberg-based helicopter has also airlifted a man from Mundubbera Hospital today, after he fell from a quad bike.

The man in his 70's suffered a suspected spinal injury while riding at his property yesterday, and was today flown to Bundaberg Base Hospital in a stable condition.
