Woman airlifted after Irukandji sting
The Bundaberg-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked at 8:30am Saturday morning after it was reported a woman had been stung by a suspected Irukandji jellyfish at Deepwater, south of Agnes Waters.
The woman in her early twenties had been surfing when the suspected Irukandji jellyfish stung her on the arm. A family member surfing with her brought her back to shore.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter met the local QAS crews at the State Emergency Service grounds at Agnes Waters where she was then airlifted to Bundaberg Base Hospital in a stable condition.
