Two RACQ LifeFlight Rescue choppers airlift mother and daughter

Two RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crews have airlifted a mother and daughter from the scene of a two car motor vehicle accident north of Biggenden.

The head-on collision occurred on a straight road and involved four people - two in each vehicle.

Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics were first on the scene to treat the patients.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopters departed from the Sunshine Coast and Bundaberg bases after being called to the scene at 1:43pm.

The crews transported the most seriously injured patients - a mother and her daughter.

The woman in her 70s (airlifted by the Sunshine Coast based helicopter) and the woman in her 50s (airlifted by the Bundaberg based helicopter) both suffered traumatic injuries.

The patients were both transported in a stable condition to Bundaberg Hospital.

The two remaining patients also suffered injuries and were transported via road to Biggenden Hospital by QAS paramedics.
