Three airlifted after boat flipped at Bustard Head
The Bundaberg RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called in to retrieve three patients from an overturned vessel near Bustard Head early this morning.
The vessel had reportedly ran out of fuel at 4:30am and washed up onto rocks, causing it to flip.
The three occupants and their dog managed to swim ashore to safety, however, a female in her 20s suffered cuts and bruises and required airlifting by the RACQ LifeFlight helicopter to Bundaberg Base Hospital for further treatment.
The others were airlifted by another air-medical service.
All patients traveled in a stable condition.
