RACQ LifeFlight airlifts man with leg injury from Fraser Island

The Sunshine Coast-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Helicopter has airlifted a man in his 40s from Fraser Island, after he injured his leg at Ngkala Rocks, on the eastern side of the island.

It’s believed the man had been clearing a path for a four wheel drive vehicle to follow when he slipped into a hole, just before midday.

He was treated at the scene by a Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedic.

RACQ LifeFlight Rescue airlifted the man to the Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital in a stable condition.
