RACQ LifeFlight Rescue chopper arrives in Gladstone to help flood victims
An RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter and air-medical crews landed in Gladstone at lunchtime today to assist with the transfer of patients in and out of Rockhampton as flooding isolates the Central Queensland city.
Flooding closed the Rockhampton Airport today, limiting the movement of critically ill patients.
The LifeFlight crew swung into immediate action, transferring their first patient from Emerald to Rockhampton within an hour of landing.
The chopper, with a Pilot, Air Crewman, Doctor and Paramedic onboard left Archerfield just after 9am this morning for the three-hour flight to Gladstone.
