RACQ LifeFlight Rescue attends MVA near Miles

The Toowoomba-based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was retasked mid flight to a motor vehicle accident near Miles on the Western Downs at 1:56 PM.

The incident occurred when a car and a truck collided near the intersection of Fairymeadow Road and the Leichhardt Highway located 14 km south of Miles, injuring multiple individuals. 

A female in her early '80s', who was a passenger in the car, was airlifted by the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition with suspected multi-trauma injuries.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter landed at the scene to offload the LifeFlight Critical Care Doctor and Flight paramedic and then flew to Chinchilla to refuel before returning to the scene shortly after. 

The rescue helicopter was flying a mission to Goondiwindi when it was retasked mid flight to the scene of the accident.
