Man winched after mustering accident

The Toowoomba -based RACQ LifeFlight Rescue was tasked to a rural property near Coalbank located south of Toowoomba at 1:27 PM this afternoon.

A 53-year-old man sustained a suspected fracture to his leg after he was thrown from his horse while mustering cattle.

Due to the heavily forested terrain, the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was unable to land and instead winched the Queensland Ambulance Flight Paramedic down to secure and treat the patient.

The patient was then winched up into the helicopter and transported to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition for further medical treatment.
