Man injured in quad bike accident

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter  crew has airlifted a man in his 30s to Sunshine Coast University Hospital following a quad bike accident at an adventure park in the South Burnett region.

The Sunshine Coast man had been riding at around 1pm when he was thrown from the quad bike, landing approximately 15 metres away.

The man sustained a suspected shoulder injury as a result of the crash and the Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Helicopter was called to airlift him to hospital for treatment.

The Sunshine Coast helicopter crew attended back-to-back accidents today. This morning the crew was called to airlift a man in his 60s involved in a serious crash on the Bruce Highway, north of Gympie.

As a result of the crash a Hervey Bay man sustained suspected chest and abdominal injuries and was also airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
