Man airlifted after tractor mishap

A 64 year old man has been airlifted by the Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter after he was involved in a farming accident near Nanango.

It's believed the man's son was reversing a tractor, when he accidentally hit his father, who sustained abdominal and lower back injuries as a result of the incident.

The 64 year old was treated at the scene by paramedics from the Queensland Ambulance Service.

He was then transported by ambulance to the Kingaroy Hospital, where he was then airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

The 64 year old man was transported in a stable condition.

2016-17 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,252 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
