Man airlifted after motocross mishap
A 29 year old man has been airlifted by the Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter after crashing his motorbike at a motocross park near Cooyar.
It's believed the man lost control of his motorbike while riding at the park before impaling his underarm on the clutch lever.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew - with the LifeFlight Critical Care Doctor on-board - flew to the scene and worked alongside the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) to treat the man.
The 29 year old was then transported to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
2016-17 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,252 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
