Man airlifted after head on collision
A 22 year old man has been airlifted by the Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter after being involved in a two vehicle crash south west of Gympie.
The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew - with LifeFlight Critical Care Doctor on-board - flew to the scene and helped the Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) treat the man.
The man sustained a suspected spinal injury and was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
2016-17 was a record year for LifeFlight for lifesaving missions with its aeromedical crews, community helicopters and Air Ambulance jets performing a record 5,252 missions throughout Queensland and around the world.
