Man airlifted after being kicked in the head
LifeFlight's Roma-based Surat Gas Aeromedical Service (SGAS) helicopter has airlifted a 43-year-old man after he was kicked in the face by a steer earlier this morning.
The incident occurred at a property north-west of Roma.
The man suffered a concussion, a broken nose and lacerations to his face as a result of the accident.
The 43 year old man has been flown to Roma Hospital for further treatment.
The SGAS helicopters – based in Roma and Toowoomba - provide up to 150 funded hours for community retrievals each year.
Since 2011, Queensland gas companies Arrow Energy, Origin Energy, QGC and Santos have partnered with LifeFlight to provide the service for gas-industry workers and community members living in the state’s South-West.
In 2016-17, the SGAS choppers flew 101 missions, including community missions.
