Man airlifted after Bruce Highway crash
A man in his 60s has been airlifted following a serious crash on the Bruce Highway, north of Gympie this morning.
The Sunshine Coast RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called to attend the scene of the three vehicle crash just before 9.30am.
The Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS), Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) and Queensland Police Service (QPS) were on scene when the helicopter arrived.
As a result of the crash a Hervey Bay man sustained suspected chest and abdominal injuries and was airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition. The other occupant of the car - a female - was transported to hospital by QAS.
